Chodankar targets casinos to capture hearts in Panaji

Panaji: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) continued to try and capitalize on the resentment against casinos, with the Congress manifesto for the Panaji by-elections once again putting the issue front and centre. While promising to remove all the casino vessels on the Mandovi river permanently, the Congress` 17-point manifesto also promised to protect the river from the Centre`s proposal to nationalise six of Goa`s rivers, including the Mandovi. Though Chodankar`s manifesto for Panaji focuses on 17 tangible issues, he also sought to strike an emotional chord with the electorate, promising to `stay loyal, act transparently` and to provide an alternative to BJP leader Manohar Parrikar....
