Last shot to keep job for 12L untrained elementary tutors

NEW DELHI: The government has offered the country`s 11.9 lakh untrained elementary school teachers a final opportunity to acquire the requisite professional qualifications, failing which they will cease to be teachers from 2019. The t eachers, employed across government, government-aided and unaided private schools, will have to complete a training module by March 2019, and reappear for the Class XII exam conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) if they scored less than 50% in their previous a ttempt.
