La Cueva´s Jones still in game as a Lobo

“(Being a Lobo) had always been a dream, growing up watching them,� Jones said after Tuesday’s practice. “So I thought I’d stay home, be around the family.� Jones, a redshirt sophomore, is one of 26 walk-ons on the 2017 UNM roster - players who do everything the other 78 players do, but without benefit of an athletic scholarship. Like his on-scholarship teammates, Jones gets up at 6 a.m. most mornings to arrive at the UNM athletic complex for breakfast and meetings.
