James Paxton struck out nine and allowed two runs over seven innings as the Mariners edged the A`s, ending their eight-game losing streak at home. Nelson Cruz hit career home run No. 300 and knocked in five runs and Danny Valencia had three hits for Seattle. Sean Manaea allowed three runs over seven innings and Marcus Semien had a two-run double.
