Great Harvest Bread Co. has filed an objection with the Federal Trade Commission over Panera Bread Co.`s pending $7.5 billion acquisition by JAB Holding, parent of Winston-Salem-based Krispy Kreme. Montana-based Great Harvest said the deal will give Panera an unfair advantage because the bakery-cafe chain will dominate the breakfast industry (which Great Harvest said is its `forte`) and could interfere with Great Harvest`s arrangement to serve products from Peet`s Coffee, a JAB-owned company.
