Israel´s armed forces chief said the death of Hezbollah military commander Mustafa Badreddine was an assassination by the Iranian backed Lebanese group itself, Reuters reported Tuesday. Hezbollah said its commander was killed by artillery fire from rebel groups combatting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad near Damascus.
