Ecuador Presidential Election Too Close To Call, Goes To Runoff

Ecuador`s National Electoral Council said that with 95 percent of all votes counted on Tuesday, the election is just too close for a first-round victory and will head to a runoff election, according to The Associated Press. Ruling party candidate Lenin Moreno is just shy of the votes needed for victory as supporters of opposition candidate Guillermo Lasso protested in the streets that the tally was an attempted fraud to favor Moreno who was selected by current President Rafael Correa to succeed him.
