JetBlue mounts full-court press for Spirit buyout approval

JetBlue Airways, faced with federal resistance to its proposed buyout of Spirit Airlines, has mounted an aggressive campaign to rally political and business support for the $3.8 billion deal. Among other things, the airline is offering more service from Fort Lauderdale and elsewhere to demonstrate the future benefits for consumers.
