Sony FE 50mm F2.5 G, FE 40mm F2.5 G and FE 24mm F2.8 G Full-Frame E-mount Lenses

Sony have just unveiled three new full-frame lenses - the FE 50mm F2.5 G, FE 40mm F2.5 G and FE 24mm F2.8 G. Each of the new super-compact, aluminum-bodied G-series lenses comes equipped with a physical aperture ring with an on/off click switch, AF/MF switch and a customisable focus hold button, and each one is the same size and almost the same weight as the others, as well as having the same filter diameter. We can`t help feeling that Sony have been somewhat `inspired` by Sigma and the recent introduction of their identically-sized 24mm, 35mm and 65mm DG DN lenses, which are also very compact and sport a high-quality metal construction complete with an aperture ring. All three lenses will be available in May priced at $800 / £630.
