A study detailing the potential environmental consequences of restoring the Los Cerritos Wetlands has been approved by the board that oversees much of the area. That document, known as an Environmental Impact Report, studied the potential harm a conceptual plan to restore the wetlands, comprising more than 500 acres on the border of Long Beach and Seal Beach, could do — analyzing everything from wildlife to tribal cultural grounds — and offered ways to lessen those consequences.
