Canon EOS R5 Firmware Version 1.1.0 Addresses Overheating Issues

Firmware version 1.1.0 for the Canon EOS R5 camera improves temperature detection and video recording time control, no longer disables the overheat control when using an external monitor/recorder, and improves the accuracy of remaining movie recording time display in situations where the camera is frequently turned on and off between recording consecutive, short videos. The 1.1.0 EOS R5 firmware update is available to download from today, 27 August 2020. The EOS R6 camera will also benefit from these fixes in a future update.In addition, Canon have announced plans to add extra features to the EOS R5 and the EOS-1D X Mark III via a series of future firmware updates for those models, including the addition of Canon Log 3 and 120fps Full HD recording for the EOS R5.
