CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Facemasks are one of the many things being considered the new normal during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they present problems for one group of people: The deaf and hard of hearing. Natasha Raisanen, 21, became hard of hearing seven years ago after she got sick the summer before her freshman year of high school. She knows basic American Sign Language, but also reads lips to understand what others say to her.
