Opdivo® (nivolumab) Plus Yervoy® (ipilimumab) Demonstrates Durable Survival Benefit vs. Chemotherapy in Patients with Previously Untreated Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma

PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bristol Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY) today announced that Opdivo®(nivolumab) plus Yervoy®(ipilimumab) demonstrated a significant improvement in overall survival (OS) in patients with previously untreated, unresectable malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) in the Phase 3 CheckMate -743 clinical trial. With a minimum follow-up of 22 months, treatment with Opdivo plus Yervoy reduced the risk of death by 26%, demonstrating a median OS of 18.1 months vs. 14.1 months for platinum-based standard of care chemotherapy (Hazard Ratio [HR]: 0.74 [96.6% Confidence Interval [CI]: 0.60, 0.91]; p=0.002).
