Pollution levels in Delhi usually remain low during the time of monsoon, however, this past July has set a new record for the cleanest air quality index (AQI) recorded in the same month since 2017. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) shows that this July, Delhi saw 25 ‘satisfactory’ air quality days in which the AQI remains between 51 to 100. This is the second AQI category after ‘good’ which has a range of 0 to 50. Since 2017, no July has seen more than 16 ‘satisfactory’ AQI days.
