Bethlehem´s historic Sayre Mansion wants to replace its special events tent with a glassed conservatory to better position itself to host more weddings and large events. The proposed 3,668-square-foot banquet hall and small hotel addition for catering staff would be built largely in the footprint of the existing tent. It is unclear what the proposal means for the Sayre Mansion owners´ plans to partner with the adjacent Wilbur Mansion to restore the Wilbur and create a luxury boutique hotel complex with about 55 rooms.
