178/2019 - 15 November 2019 September 2019 Euro area international trade in goods surplus EUR18.7 bn EUR5.0 bn deficit for EU28 Euro area The first estimate for euro area (EA19) exports of goods to the rest of the world in September 2019 was EUR196.2 billion, an increase of 5.2% compared with September 2018 (EUR186.5 bn). Imports from the rest of the world stood at EUR177.6 bn, a rise of 2.1% compared with September 2018 (EUR173.9 bn). As a result, the euro area recorded a EUR18.7 bn surplus in trade in goods with the rest of the world in September 2019, compared with +EUR12.6 bn in September 2018.
