Those affected by COVID-19 aren´t alone, whether employer or employee. Several available resources were shared during a press conference held Monday afternoon at Columbus City Council Chambers. `We know people have been laid off for this,` Columbus Mayor Jim Bulkley said. `We know businesses have closed for this.` Bernie Hansen, regional manager for the Nebraska Department of Labor in Columbus, urged residents who have been unable to work due to COVID-19 to apply for unemployment.
