Xbox is like redbull in F1; they have the cash to (never really die and to) brute force their way into an industry, buy up notable talent, market themselves into a household name. What prospect is there under the sun theyd ever invest in a project like Souls [or Death Stranding, Octopath, Scalebound!] on the merits of the concept [though they might wait around for it to become popular before buying it up and shitting it back out]
