Crazy winter weather is confusing plants

I am writing this on Jan. 15, and the temperature gauge in my car showed 66 degrees. Obviously, this is abnormally warm weather for January! If you have looked around your lawn and garden you may have noticed some trees and shrubs are starting to bud out and perennial plants emerging. What does that mean for those plants when the weather eventually turns cold? In fall...
