Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebrated in Woodland

Martin Luther King Jr. Day became one of service and celebration in Woodland. While a city-sponsored ceremony was held at Heritage Plaza last Wednesday, on Monday it was time to go to work and carry on King’s dream of community service as well as celebrate the blessings of God. For the seventh year, Friends of the Mission and Fourth & Hope was visited by people who honored King’s legacy through the dint of hard work. And this year, around 40 students from King Hall at the UC Davis School of Law along with members of the Black Law Students Association, and the UC Davis MLK Day Working Group assisted with the cleanup.
