Govt reluctant to link State Bank of Pakistan governor´s tenure with performance

ISLAMABAD: The PTI-led government seems reluctant to link tenure of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor with performance and placing proper accountability in upcoming proposed amendments to the SBP Act. A technical mission of IMF is scheduled to visit Pakistan from next week for finalising draft of SBP amendments for granting autonomy to the central bank.
