60% of BJP´s income through donations came from poll bonds

More than half the funds raised by the BJP ahead of Lok Sabha elections in 2019 came through electoral bonds, according to the annual audited accounts of the party with the Election Commission. The BJP raised a total of Rs 2,354 crore through donations in the financial year 2018-19, which was more than double the income (Rs 1,027 crore) in 2017-18. Of this, almost 60 per cent, that is Rs 1,450 crore, came through electoral bonds.
