Watsonville High head coach Ron Myers — the father of football at Monte Vista Christian School — has served as a high school gridiron coach more than half his life. After 47 years of molding teens into young men at a handful of programs, Myers, 70, announced that he has retired from coaching. “It was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make,� Myers said. “When you’ve done something that long, that many seasons, it’s part of you.
