Hunting year 2018/2019: number of game shot decreased by 2.8%

Press release: 12.109-175/19 Vienna, 2019-10-11 - A total of 736 000 game has been shot in the hunting year 2018/2019, as Statistics Austria reports. Compared to the previous season, this represents a decrease of 2.8%. Thereof, the number of furred gameshot decreased by 3.0% to 614 000 and the number of game birdsshot declined by 1.9% to 122 000. Among furred game, 395 000 head hoofed game(-4.3%) and 219 000 head other haired game(-0.5%) were shot.
