ED SEEKS INFO ON MULTI-CRORE SCHOLARSHIP SCAM FROM MAHA GOVT

Nagpur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated an inquiry under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, last week into the multi-crore scholarship scam exposed by TOI a couple of years ago. The BJP-led Maharashtra government had not taken any action even though the Venkatesham-led Special Investigation Team (SIT) had confirmed misappropriation of funds. In a letter addressed to the deputy commissioner of social welfare department of Nagpur division, the ED´s city-based assistant director Gopal Gadge has sought information on various counts.
