UK seeking comprehensive trade deal with Aust after Brexit

September 18, 2019. Australian trade minister Simon Birmingham and the United Kingdom`s International Trade Secretary Liz Truss speak to the media in Canberra about trade negotiations between Australian and Britain ahead of the UK leaving the European Union on October 31. `This is first time in 45 years that the UK has it`s own independent trade policy and Australia is the one of the first countries that we consulted on in terms of doing a trade deal,` Ms Truss says. Australia and the UK will trade financial services, technology, wine and spirits. The UK trade minister wants a fully comprehensive trade deal after it leaves the European Union.
