Shania Twain, Justin Trudeau, John Tory, Steve Nash. And that’s just the short list. There’s been an abundance of Twitter love for Bianca Andreescu since her historic straight sets win over Serena Williams at the U.S. Open this past weekend. The teenager from Mississauga became the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam singles championship ever, just weeks after winning the hometown Rogers Cup title. On Monday, Andreescu had another victory tour of sorts, starting the day on Good Morning America and ending it with an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.“It’s been crazy. I’ve been feeling all the love from home and I really appreciate it,” she told Fallon after listing a handful of special congratulatory messages she’s received. The host followed up by asking if there was anyone she hadn’t heard from yet.“Drizzy,” she said with a laugh. “Champagne Papi, I’m waiting for you.”With or without a message from Drake, the celebrations will go on this week for the 19-year-old when she returns to Canada. Mississauga mayor Bonnie Crombie said on Twitter that the city will honour Andreescu with a rally, a key to the city and by naming a street after her.
