Rock band Cake and singer-songwriter Ben Folds had such a blast on a co-headlining tour that played out in front of sold-out audiences on the East Coast and in the Midwest in 2018 that they decided to team up again in 2019 for an 11-date trek in the west. The tour will stop at FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine on Saturday, Sept. 14 and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 15. The shows also coincide with the release of Folds’ memoir, “A Dream About Lighting Bugs: A Life of Music and Cheap Lessons,� which came out in July, and a forthcoming 7-inch vinyl release of Cake’s cover of R&B pop group The 5th Dimension’s “The Age of Aquarius.�...
