Matthew Phillips, 44, only realised he had been bitten when he returned home from a trip to Las Vegas with friends on June 16. Medics at Salford Royal Hospital told him the most likely culprit was a tiny Brown Recluse - barely the size of a 20p but deadlier than a rattlesnake.
