MacKenzie O`Dore, Dawson LaRance claim Montana Mile titles at BSSG opening ceremonies

BILLINGS - MacKenzie O´Dore didn´t have much of a strategy going into the women´s Montana Mile on Friday at Daylis Stadium. She just had one piece of preconceived advice for herself. `Just don´t finish last,` O´Dore said with a laugh. Without a lot of training or much idea of how she´d fare, O´Dore took command in the final lap and won her first Montana Mile crown in her fourth try. The former Joliet High School standout and current Rocky Mountain College distance coach finished the race in 5:06.74, outpacing Montana Western runner Mindy Kaufman (5:07.91) and Boise State- bound Senior High grad Tiahna Vladic (5:10.58).
