Peel Region police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam video in the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old woman who was just “enjoying a night out with friends” when she was gunned down outside a bar in Mississauga this month.Jackline Keji Gore’s parents and family were at a news conference Friday held by police who gave an update into the 11-day-old investigation. Police said Keji Gore was not the intended victim in the shooting outside the Fume Bar and Lounge at 7195 Torbram Rd.“Jackline was doing nothing more that night other than enjoying a night out with friends when her life was tragically taken away. She was an innocent victim of what can only be described as a senseless of violence and disregard for human life,” said Insp. Martin Ottaway, adding police have identified who they believe was the intended victim.Ottaway said as patrons were leaving just before 2:50 a.m. on July 8, a male suspect approached a group of men near the entrance and began firing at one of them with a handgun. The man fled through the parking lot and the suspect gave chase while continuing to fire.Keji Gore, who was standing nearby in the parking lot with friends, was fatally wounded by one of the bullets. Police did not identify the intended victim but said they have spoken to him.Investigators said the suspect was wearing a grey, hooded sweatshirt and a mask, adding he fled the scene in a dark SUV “similar to a crossover style.”“We know there were a number of people present in the parking lot when the shooting occurred, and we need those people to do the right thing and come forward and speak with us,” Ottaway said.Investigators are also asking anyone driving in the area of Torbram and Derry Rds. with dashcam footage to contact them.Keji Gore’s cousin, James Swaka, spoke on behalf of the family during the news conference and said more than 500 people attended her funeral. He also appealed for the suspect to turn himself in. ...
