CHICO — The day of Nov. 8, Enloe Medical Center´s emergency room had its busiest day ever, said Kathy Cawthon, the hospital´s director of quality of medical staff services. Feather River Hospital in Paradise had approximately 60 patients who needed to be transferred out of the Camp Fire´s path, and Enloe, in Chico, was able to take 49, she said. That´s on top of the center´s regular emergency room admissions, the evacuees who were coming in with burns, and the convalescent patients from Paradise who couldn´t be transferred to personal care.
