After Chile was rocked by a massive sex abuse scandal in the Catholic Church with more than 200 victims coming forward, Chilean President Sebastian Pinera signed a bill that would remove the statute of limitations on sex crimes involving children on Thursday, according to The Japan Times. The law was first proposed by legislators in 2010 was signed to end impunity for cases that previously would have had a statute between five and 10 years depending on the nature of the crime.
