Sometimes lineup changes are made intentionally, and sometimes circumstances dictate that they be made.The Raptors got a taste of both on Sunday in a crazily delightful and memorable Eastern Conference final game with the Milwaukee Bucks.A move to Norm Powell was intentional and it worked like a charm for coach Nick Nurse and the Raptors, because it was a game very much made for Powell — one that was a bit scrambled and very quick with lots of ball movement and plenty of player movement — and you could sense him chomping at the bit to get heavily involved.And he was central to the game with 19 points in 30 minutes, and that intentional change worked.And when Nurse had lineup changes thrust upon him, he came out ahead as well.With Powell fouling out and Kyle Lowry fouling out and Danny Green ineffective and Serge Ibaka left on the bench for all but 14 minutes, the Raptors road Kawhi Leonard and Fred VanVleet down the stretch and through two season-saving overtimes.Leonard had 36 points and dominated the second overtime period, VanVleet ran the team for the last 16 minutes and Toronto salvaged its season, winning 118-112 in double overtime to get back within 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.Powell’s 19 points marked his best production of the post-season, and he was not on the floor in the frantic final few minutes after fouling out with 69 seconds left and Toronto up five.He left to a rousing ovation, one of only a few he’s heard all season at Scotiabank Arena. His raw emotion — frustration at the call, disappointment at not being able to finish the game — was apparent.Nurse didn’t do anything too different with his lineup — a couple of small rotation tweaks here and there, including ending the first quarter with all of Lowry, Leonard and Marc Gasol on the bench — he used Powell more than he has in practically any playoff game this season.“I think he’s been very good,” Nurse said of Powell bef ...
