NEWPORT BEACH – It takes a special team to ascend to new heights when it is already one of the premier volleyball programs in the nation, and the Newport Harbor boys volleyball team proved to be the epitome of special. The Sailors gave their longtime coach Rocky Ciarelli the proper sendoff by winning the school´s first CIF Southern California Regional Division I championship with a victory over Mira Costa 18-25, 25-17, 25-12, 25-19 on Saturday night at Newport Harbor High.
