Balance of travel services Based on provisional data, the balance of travel services in February 2019showed a surplus of EUR51 million, compared with a surplus of EUR19 million in February 2018. More specifically, travel receipts in February 2019 rose by 29.6% to EUR209 million, from EUR161 million in February 2018, while travel payments also increased by 10.7% (February 2019: EUR158 million, February 2018: EUR143 million). The rise in travel receipts is attributed to a 24.7% increase in average expenditure per trip, as well as to a rise of 4.0% in inbound traveller flows.
