New joints, fresh paint for aging Red Line

NEW DELHI: Delhi Metro´s Red Line corridor is in a bad shape, with plaster peeling off at many stations such as Dilshad Garden, Mansarovar Park, Seelampur and Shahdara, apart from seepage-damaged walls, broken tiles, stairs smudged with paan stains, de-coloured walls and dust laden floors. The city´s first metro corridor now seems like the network´s neglected first-born. Compared with the more recent ones, the Red Line looks drab and old. The trains on the corridor have also aged and many have water leaking into the compartments from the air-conditioning system.
