SALT LAKE CITY - Ivan Aurrecoechea, a native of Madrid, fought back tears as the New Mexico State Aggies left the Vivint Arena floor in Salt Lake City. To the Aggie fans in the stands of the Midwest Region first-round 78-77 loss to Auburn, Aurrecoechea gave a thumbs-up and was followed by teammate Shunn Buchanan directing a “thank you” to those near the exit ramp.
