Cervical Cancer Could Be Eliminated By 2100

New research says cervical cancer could be wiped out in most countries by the end of the 21st century, according to CBS News. Prof. Karen Canfell from the Cancer Council New South Wales, who led the study, said on Wednesday the HPV (human papilloma virus) vaccine has been successful in drastically reducing incidents of cervical cancer wherever uptake has been high. Many are hopeful the vaccine and HPV screening can end the fight against the cancer which kills more than 300,000 people around the world every year.
