4 killed in I-70 crash

Four people were killed in a crash Wednesday that closed westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Columbia for several hours. Names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. In an earlier incident, Boone County Joint Communications reported at 11:52 a.m. a semitruck fire was causing congestion in the westbound lanes of I-70 at the 131 mile marker just west of the Route Z exit.
