Star Wars TV Show Adds Deadpool, Fast & Furious Actress

The upcoming Star Wars TV show, The Mandalorian, has added another cast member. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fast & Furious 6 and Deadpool actress Gina Carano has joined the show in an untitled role.An MMA-star-turned-actress, Carano`s first big movie was a lead role in Ocean`s 11 director Steven Soderbergh`s Haywire. Carano also has a history with video games, as she voiced Natasha in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3.Carano joining The Mandalorian comes not long after it was confirmed that Game of Thrones and Narcos actor Pedro Pascal will play the lead role in the TV show.The Mandalorian will air on Disney`s brand-new streaming service, Disney+, which itself launches in 2019. The show is written and produced by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, with individual episodes set to be directed by Taika Waititi (Thor Ragnarok), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), and Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones).Disney is working on multiple Star Wars TV shows; another planned series will bring back Diego Luna to reprise his role as Cassian Andor from Rogue One. Outside of Star Wars, Disney is making a new TV show focusing on Loki from The Avengers.The Mandalorian takes place after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi but before the new episodic films. It`s said to follow a lone gunfighter, played by Pascal, who is outrunning the law of the New Republic.
