Saris out, constables must wear trousers now

BENGALURU: The women constabulary in the state will no longer be required to wear saris while performing their duty, just like the officer class in the police department. A circular dated October 16, from the office of director general and inspector general of police (DG&IGP), has stated that women personnel will now be able to work-maintaining law and order or managing traffic-in trousers and shirts like their male counterparts.
