Toronto police have arrested and charged a 50-year-old man in connection with a series of fires set in North York over the past five months. The most recent fire was reported Saturday at 4:37 a.m., after a telephone box was reported on fire in the Kingslake Rd. and Lisburn Cres. area, north of Fairview Mall.After an investigation, police confirmed that in the past five months, there had been eight other fires in various locations, including streets such as Godstone Rd., Esterbrooke Ave. and Allenbury Gardens.Andrew Kleemiss, 50, of Toronto, was charged with seven counts of arson causing property damage, one count of arson disregard for human life and one count of break and enter with intent.He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Sunday.Anyone with information on other suspicious fires in the North York area is asked to call police at 32 or 33 divisions or contact police at 416-808-3200, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
