Lorenzen`s gem leaves door open for `19 rotation

Saturday`s starters had plenty of motivation for the Reds and Pirates. Michael Lorenzen`s 5 2/3 scoreless innings gave him a case as an intriguing candidate for Cincinnati`s 2019 rotation. Jameson Taillon was hit hard, but he grinded through six innings to keep his 22-game streak allowing three earned runs or fewer intact. Lorenzen was backed by Eugenio Suarez`s 34th homer of the year, and he helped himself out with a rocket RBI single in the fourth. Corey Dickerson went 1-for-3 to finish the season hitting .300, but the Bucs were unable to scratch across any runs, as the Reds` bullpen added 3 1/3 sterling frames to complete the shutout
