Kris Bryant homered after sitting for two games and Kyle Hendricks tossed 8 sharp innings en route to the Cubs` win over the Cardinals at Wrigley Field. Chicago could clinch the National League Central with one more win over St. Louis and losses by Milwaukee on Friday and Saturday. Anthony Rizzo drove in two on a single and a sac fly, Albert Almora added a pair on a single, and Daniel Murphy, Jason Heyward and David Bote knocked in one apiece. Adam Wainwright yielded four runs in five innings for the Cards, who now trail the Dodgers by 1 1/2 games in the NL Wild Card race. St. Louis scored twice in the sixth, on a Marcell Ozuna single and a Paul DeJong groundout, and twice in the ninth, following two Cubs errors.
