René Rast makes it three DTM wins in a row at the alpine circuit in Spielberg

René Rast clinched a last-minute victory in the opening race of the penultimate round of the 2018 DTM season at the Red Bull Ring. The Audi driver was running fourth until shortly before the end of the race, but benefitted from a 30-second penalty awarded to race leader Daniel Juncadella (Mercedes-Benz), who consequently dropped down to 14th place. The final lap also saw Rast overtake fellow Audi men Mike Rockenfeller and Nico Müller, who ended the race in second and third place. The new championship leader is Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz), who came home fourth.
