More Than 1,000 Face Evacuation As Fire Burns in Germany After Rocket Test Gone Awry

Officials in northwestern Germany declared a disaster across three towns on Friday over a wildfire which has been burning for more than two weeks, according to Deutsche Welle. The fire was ignited by a rocket test conducted on an army training site, but German firefighters have struggled to extinguish the blaze which has spread across moorland used by the German army to conduct training exercises. Smoke is now spread across more than 62 miles from the blaze and is visible on satellite images.
