Phantomgate: The Last Valkyrie Hardcore fans of roleplaying adventure games are right to be a bit wary of new mobile RPGs. All too often, these games are designed to be repetitive grinding sessions designed to get you hooked on leveling up your characters with flashy graphics, perhaps, but hampered by lackluster storytelling and otherwise rushed production values. Netmarble's latest release, Phantomgate, does a great job of bucking those trends. Phantomgate blends 2D platforming puzzles with a turn-based RPG combat system that feels refreshingly unique among the mobile RPG genre. The story is based on Norse mythology and follows the path of a young Valkyrie named Astrid who has set off to save her mother from Odin.
