Colombia`s Congress Slashes Their Own Salaries

Colombia`s political parties came together on Wednesday to agree to reduce the salaries of congressmen from more than 40 times the minimum wage at $10,000 per month to only 25 times the minimum wage at $250 per month, according to Colombia Reports. The move was an attempt to appease anti-corruption advocates, who narrowly lost their referendum two weeks ago, so the Congress decided to lower the salaries of Colombian politicians as an anti-corruption starting point.
