Pope Francis summoned the presidents of Catholic bishops conferences worldwide to come together next February to discuss how to move forward in protecting children and preventing sexual abuse by priests on Tuesday, according to USA Today. The Catholic Church has been grappling with several massive scandals of abuse and cover-ups so the meeting, scheduled for February 21-24, would be the first of its kind to address the handling of sex abuse cases going back decades.
